The downside is that the uploaded videos are not concatenated according to GoPro support. This seems to be the fastest method as this manages to upload consistently at about 250Mbit/s.
Use cellular data Off (but shouldn't matter, as my phone is connected to wifi atm) I don't have auto-upload for the camera itself turned on as I expect the camera won't be near wifi when we want to transfer data, so I didn't bother. But since this method first requires the transfer of the files from the GoPro camera to the mobile device, this method is even slower than the first option overall.Īnother option is to remove the SD card from the camera and copy the files to a local computer and then upload the files to the GoPro cloud from a regular web browser. App: Quik version 10.9.1 (I assume this is the latest, as I downloaded it just yesterday) Mobile Upload On. The downside appears to be that uploading from the Quick app is just as slow as the previous method. According to GoPro support, uploading a video using this method also concatenates the files. I can also download the video from the GoPro camera to a mobile device and then use the Quick app to upload the video to GoPro's cloud. However, my connection is able to consistently sustain around 300Mbit/s upload speed over wifi which means a 20GB video would only take about 10 minutes to upload if the GoPro camera would fully utilize my connection's available bandwidth. Uploading a 20GB file from the GoPro camera using this method takes several hours. The upside to this method appears to be that the uploaded video is automatically concatenated into a single video while the downside is that uploading through this method is painfully slow.
I can perform a direct upload from the GoPro camera via wifi by either setting up automatic upload or performing a manual upload. Please correct me where I'm wrong and let me know if I've left out any options It's my understanding there are several different ways to upload videos to GoPro's cloud each with different caveats.
